More than 100 migrants drown off the Libyan coast

More than 100 illegal immigrants have drowned near the Libyan coast early this September, after their boat sank, which started its journey from the Libyan shores.

The 276 survivors, who include women, children and infants, were taken to Khoms city for treatment, as some of them had pneumonia and burns caused by the fuel leak, Reuters reported.

In June, Libyan naval forces rescued more than 2,000 illegal immigrants off the Libyan coast as they tried to reach Europe.
