Efforts continue to secure southern Tripoli, says military commander

Commander of the Western Region Forces, Major General Osama Agwili said on Saturday that his forces have not entered Tripoli yet, and that efforts are still ongoing to resolve the conflict in the capital.

Agwili said in a statement to ArraedLG, there is communication with the fighting parties and expressed their readiness for calmness, noting that the agreement is being held currently on some technical matters, such as the places of  concentration of Western forces and the existing forces.

The Western Region Forces commander pointed out that his forces are ready to secure the area immediately  after the completion of these procedures.

The head of the Presidential Council (PC), Faiz Al-Sarraj issued on Thursday  instructions to the forces of the central and western regions to intervene and break the armed clashes  south of Tripoli.
