International concern and warnings over events in Tripoli

The Ambassadors of France, Italy, United Kingdom and the United States of America expressed their concern over the recent clashes in Tripoli which are destabilizing and endanger the lives of civilians.

The four countries “strongly” warned in a joint statement on Wednesday of any further escalation, calling on all parties to work together for restraint, restoring calm and engaging in peaceful dialogue.

The joint statement stressed that attempts to undermine Libya’s security were unacceptable, adding that the international community was following the situation closely in Tripoli.
