President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani called on Wednesday to stop illegal immigration from North Africa.
Tajani said, according to Russian news agency Sputnik, he will visit Niger and perhaps Libya next month, stressing the importance of the European Parliament dealing with the crisis of asylum and immigrants in a “fundamental and essential” way.
The Security Council on Friday imposed sanctions on six people, five of them Libyans; for involvement in human trafficking from Libya to Europe.
