UK expresses concern over military escalation in Derna

UK ambassador to Libya, Frank Baker said on Wednesday his country is concerned about the clashes in the city of Sabha and the escalation of military operations in Derna.

Baker, through his official Twitter account, called on all sides to exercise restraint, respect international human rights laws and ensure that all precautions are taken to protect civilians.

Haftar Forces have been waging a war against the city of Derna with heavy weapons and warplanes since the beginning of May, after imposing a siege on the city for more than three years.
