Egypt, Tunisia & Algeria reaffirm their support for UN Action Plan

The foreign ministers of Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria renewed on Monday their support for the plan of action for Libya presented by UN special envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame in order to resolve the political blockage to preserve the unity and sovereignty of the country.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri, Tunisian Khamis Jahnawi and Algerian Abdelkader Messahel, affirmed in a statement issued at the end of a meeting in Algiers on Libya the importance of the international role in implementing the terms of the Skhirat agreement.

The ministers stressed that the contribution of the Libyans should be taken into account in all regional and international consultations and efforts aimed at implementing the settlement process, stressing that the solution must be political, stemming from the will and consensus of the Libyan people.

Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria hold continuing consultations between their foreign ministers on the crisis in Libya.
