Voter count is underway in Zawiya Municipality elections

The head of the Central Committee for the Election of Municipal Councils, Salem Bin Tahia said on Tuesday, the voter turnout at the polling stations in Zawiya Center reached 63,99%.

Bin Tahia said work is underway in sorting and checking the results in preparation for the final announcment.

He said that the names of the winners of the positions of Zawiya Central Council will probably be announced today, noting that the remaining work in this regard is purely technical.

He pointed out that the Committee is waiting to monitor the budget for the election of municipalities, which has ended its term, stressing that 21 municipal councils have completed their terms, while another 75 municipalities will do so in 2018.

The Central Committee for the Election of Municipal Councils is working on the election of 110 municipalities.
