Italy calls for a peaceful settlement in Sabha

The Italian embassy in Libya called on Sunday for calm to be restored in Sabha and to achieve a peaceful settlement of the conflict in the city.

The Embassy expressed, on its official Twitter account, support to the efforts of the Presidential Council (PC) to resolve the situation in the region, stressing that the continuation of this conflict is only in the interests of terrorist groups and criminal networks aimed at benefiting from the instability and chaos in Libya.

Sabha has seen, since Friday, violent armed clashes since February, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of civilians.
