HCS president says war on Derna threatens the lives of civilians

The president of the High Council of State (HCS), Khalid Al-Mashri said, the continued threat of war and entry into the city of Derna will endanger the lives of civilians and impede efforts for reconciliation.

Al-Mashri’s statement came during his meeting with UN special envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame discussing the latest developments in Derna.

Haftar Forces have been trying to break into the city of Derna, which has been besieged for more than two years.
