Coast Guard rescues 241 migrants in two separate missions

The Libyan Coast Guard rescued on Sunday 241 migrants in two separate missions off Janzur and Zawiya coasts.

Libyan naval spokesperson, Ayoub Qassem said, the first rescue operation was carried out by Ras Ajdir boat, which rescued 114 migrants who their rubber boat stopped 13, 13 km north of Zawiya shore. Qassem said that among the migrants were 21 women and 4 children of different African nationalities.

Qassem added that the second operation was carried out by the same boat, which rescued 96 migrants of different nationalities, including 29 Egyptians and two Tunisians.

The Coast Guard rescued 80 illegal immigrants, north of Melita last Friday.
