GECOL warns of robberies of electrical materials and equipment

The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) warned on Sunday of repeated armed robberies on trucks carrying electrical materials and equipment in Al-Shuwairf area by a citizen with the name Abdul Hamid Abu Khurais.

GEOCL said in a statement on its official page, it is not responsible for any fluctuation in the performance of the electrical network in the southern region, in the event of such instances continue.

The company demanded legal and security bodies and municipality mayors in the region to develop solutions to secure the southern roads and recover stolen materials, stressing the need to take measures to ensure the access of electrical materials to the work sites.

The General Electricity Company of Libya announced last week that Abdul Hamid Abu Khurais, a citizen of Al-Shuwairf area stole electrical materials.
