Sabha mayor says Haftar forces withdrew and GNA Committee did not fulfill promises

Sabha mayor, Hamid Al-Khayali said on Sunday, Haftar forces withdrew from the region after news circulated about the decline of the commander, Khalifa Haftar’s health.

Al-Khayali told ArraedLG, the security situation in the city is difficult, noting that the committee formed by the Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA) did not carry out its tasks, and works from Tripoli instead of working from the conflict zone and did not succeed in ending the suffering of the people of the South.

The mayor stressed that governments are well aware of the presence of more than 20,000 mercenaries in the south and did not move a finger to their interests.

Sabha Medical Center reported that 12 people were killed and 55 others injured as a result of the clashes that took place in the city from February 4 to April 21.
