200 illegal immigrants rescued off the coast of Zliten

The Libyan Coast Guard rescued 200 illegal immigrants off the coast of Zliten.

The Libyan Navy spokesperson Ayoub Qassem said, in a statement to ArraedLG, the migrants, who include “38 women and a child of different African and Asian nationalities,” were aboard two rubber boats, before they were rescued by Sabratha boat north of Zliten shores.

Qassem added that the migrants were transferred to the Tripoli naval base to provide them with humanitarian and medical assistance and handed over to the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency at the Trik Al-Sika shelter.

Illegal migration is increasing in April due to improved weather conditions.
