NOC: Fire broke out on El-Zkout pipeline and production expected to decline

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) confirmed that a fire broke out on a pipeline operated by Waha Oil Corporation, which links the fields with Es Sider oil port.

The company said on its official website on Saturday, firefighters went to the scene to deal with the fire and assess the situation.

The NOC expects a decline in production between 70 and 100 thousand barrels per day.

The National Oil Corporation explained that the preliminary information indicates that the fire broke out in the isolation valve No. 3 in the line located 117 km from El-Zkout and about 21 km North West of Marada.

The same pipeline was bombed last December, which led to the decline of the country’s oil production by about 100 thousand barrels.
