Libya asks for Iran’s support for presidency of the Regional Office of WHO

The Foreign Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Mohamed Al-Sayala, asked his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif, to support the Libyan candidate to head the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office.

The Libyan request came during a meeting on the sidelines of the 18th session of the Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement, held in the Republic of Azerbaijan, where the two sides discussed means of cooperation between the two countries in a number of fields.

Libya has nominated Dr. Moftah Mahmoud Moftah to head the WHO Regional Office within a number of candidates from a number of countries.
