GNA head denounces military escalation around Derna

The head of the Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA) spokesperson, Mohamed Al-Salak said the military escalation and any action that harms the interest of civilians in the city of Derna is “rejected.”

Al-Salak told a news conference on Monday, GNA supports peaceful possibilities, expressing hope that the language of reason and wisdom will solve the problem of Derna, adding that their position is rejecting “terrorism and militant groups” across Libya.

Hafter forces imposed a siege suffocating the city of Derna for more than two years.
