149 Nigerians return home from Libya

The Nigerian National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) announced on Friday, the voluntary return of 149 illegal immigrants to Nigeria from Libya.

The migrants arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport on a chartered plane operated by Al-Buraq Air, the agency said.

The returning migrants, who are mostly men with 37 women and 5 children, were repatriated under the UN-supervised voluntary repatriation program, according to NEMA.

Libya is suffering from illegal flows of migrants across the southern border, prompting the UN to launch a voluntary repatriation program to help Libya evacuate the migrants.
