21 illegal immigrants died after their boat sank 55 nautical miles off the Libyan coast.

Italian port in Sicily is awaiting the arrival of a ship carrying survivors, one of which is a pregnant women, who were with the 21 deceased, according to the Italian news agency Aki.
According to Aki, a young man from the Gambia told the crew of the rescue ship “Aquarius” that among the 30 survivors was his brother and four women, one of them pregnant, on the boat that was carrying 51 people.

The United Nations Refugee and Migration Commission reported in early February that about 90 illegal immigrants drowned off the Libyan coast as they tried to cross to Italy
