Sayala calls on France to resume its embassy in Tripoli

The foreign minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Mohamed Al-Sayala renewed his call to the French government to resume the work of its embassy in the capital Tripoli during a meeting with French foreign minister, Jean-Yves Laudrian, on the sidelines of the 5 + 5 foreign ministers’ meeting in Algiers.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them, joint efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, the overall situation in Libya, in addition to the efforts exerted by the UN special envoy to Libya to resolve the political crisis. .

The meeting also reviewed the international and regional efforts to achieve political stability through the Presidential Council (PC) and the GNA, emanating from it; to achieve the success of the national entitlement to hold the general elections during this year, according to the foreign ministry’s media office.

The 5 + 5 summit of foreign ministers was launched Sunday in the Algerian capital Algiers; to discuss issues of the region.
