On Tuesday during a meeting in Moscow with the Foreign Minister in the Government of National Accord, Mohammed Sayala, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that he plans to send a business delegation from Russia to Libya early next year.
Lavror said that they agreed with Libyan authorities to continue contact and to resume economic trade relations between the two countries early next year, according to Russian News Agency Sputnik.
The Russian foreign minister expressed Russia’s readiness to help Libyan parties reach an agreement ending the ongoing crisis in Libya under the auspices of the UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame.
For his part, Sayala hoped that the ongoing political negotiations would provide a basis for holding future presidential elections and drafting a new constitution for the country. He went on to praise the efforts exerted by the UN envoy to bring the Libyan parties together.
Mohammed Sayala arrived on Monday, following an invitation by Moscow.
