Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel: ISIS has called on its fighters to go to Libya

Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel said ISIS in Syria and Iraq has invited its fighters to go to Libya, the Sahel, and the Sahara.

At the opening of a forum on combating terrorism in the African continent, which was held in the city of Oran on Sunday, Messahel said his findings were  based on “reports of recorded movements of foreign fighters in this direction.”

Italian Interior Minister Marco Minniti said that Italy fears the return of ISIS in Syria and Iraq to Libya, adding that Libya’s southern border must be secured to prevent their return.
