US, EU, and Egypt reaffirm their support for the political track to end the Libyan crisis

On Sunday the ambassadors of the United States and a number of EU countries issued a statement reaffirming their support for the Libyan parties to work quickly and effectively to amend the political agreement; adding that it as the only viable framework to end the political crisis and hold elections during Libya’s transitional period.

In addition, Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, stressed the importance of providing full support for the political process sponsored by the United Nations as the path chosen by the Libyans. He also stressed the importance the dialogue drafting committee in Tunisia resuming work as soon as possible to address outstanding issues in order to achieve a political settlement and introduce the necessary amendments to the Skhirat agreement.
