Germany supports the elections in Libya by giving one million euros

German Ambassador to Libya Christian Bock signed an agreement whereby Germany will contribute to the financing of the United Nations electoral project in Libya by providing one million euros. This agreement was signed in Tunis with UN Deputy Special Envoy and Representative of the Development Support Program Maria Val Ribeiro.

On Friday, the UN mission said on its official website that German support for the Libyan election project raised the total amount of contribution to two million and 800 thousand euros.

The German ambassador has confirmed that his country welcomes the assistance of the Libyan authorities to prepare for free and fair elections in accordance with the plan of action of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ghassan Salame.

It is noteworthy that Germany has joined the Netherlands, France and Italy in support of this project, which is managed by the United Nations Development Program in cooperation with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.
