Libyan Coast Guard saves illegal immigrants of Arab nationalities

On Friday, the Libyan Coast Guards from the naval base rescued a group of illegal immigrants of Arab nationalities off the coast of Tripoli.

According to the Anti-Illegal Immigration Authority, the operations room received a telephone signal from the Tripoli Coast Guard stating that it had a group of illegal immigrants.

The illegal immigration agency said it had received migrants from Morocco, Algeria, Syria and Egypt at its headquarters on the Sekka road in Tripoli, adding that it had provided blankets, food aid and medical assistance in cooperation with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The International Organization for Migration announced that the Libyan Coast Guard rescued in November last year 1,632 illegal immigrants.
