Managers Of Media Organizations In Libya Complain Of Lack Of Regulation In The Field Of Media

During a meeting on Sunday, with the directors of media institutions, the Secretary-General of the GNA Council of Ministers Taher Ben Amer discussed the absence of a ministry that regulates the media in Libya.

According to the Government’s Information Office, Ben Amer confirmed his cooperation with officials of the media to develop a unified vocabulary and to contribute to building the regulation and institutions in the country.

In turn, the directors of the institutions demanded the Presidential Council pay more attention to the media as the outlets have  a duty towards the citizens and the GNA must also face the “offensive” media campaigns against Libya.

The presidential council of the GNA has not formed a media ministry since taking office in March last year.
