Chairman of the Political Dialogue Committee for the Supreme Council of the State Musa Faraj: We did not reject Ghassan Salame’s proposal, but we object to an article within it

The head of the Political Dialogue Committee for the Supreme Council of State, Musa Faraj, told Arraed LG on Friday that the Council did not reject the proposal submitted by UN envoy Ghassan Salame, but rather, they welcome it although they do have some remarks.

Faraj explained that Salame provided them with a proposal that included 12 articles. The State Council objected to the article that gives the House of Representatives unilateral authority in choosing the presidential council, noting that the president should be chosen by consensus as the current stage cannot tolerate unilateral decisions.
