Gunmen target Al-Jalaa hospital in Benghazi using “RPGs”

On Friday, Al-Jalaa Hospital for surgery and accidents in Benghazi announced that an armed group targeted the hospital using RPGs and started shooting inside the hospital corridors.

The hospital stated that some of its departments were damaged including intensive care, radiology, and information services. They added that the shells released almost caused a disaster due to the presence of piping oxygen tubes used for intensive care and operations. The attacks created panic and fear with medical staff and hospital employees- according to the hospital’s Facebook page.

The hospital stated that the shooting lasted for two and a half hours, starting at midnight on Friday. The attacks started out as a quarrel outside the hospital and later moved inside.
