Minister of Foreign Affairs of the GNA, Mohammed Sayala addresses the Security Council

On Thursday in his briefing before the Security Council, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the GNA, Mohammed Sayala, stated that the Libyan state did not demand the lift on the frozen assets, but demanded a formula that helps them manage their funds and invest them in order to preserve them from erosion and corruption.He added that the freezing of Libyan assets greatly stresses the interests of Libya and its economy. He also brought up the incident of Derna and prompted that “we call on the Security Council to hold a special session to look into the incident of Derna”, also mentioning the siege on the Derna area, saying as to how it is greatly affecting its citizens. Sayala added that, “mass killings in Libya amount to war crimes, and the perpetrators must be held accountable”.
