Solidarity for Human Rights Organization: “We have documented testimonies of victims in the prisons of Libya”

Solidarity for Human Rights called on the Libyan authorities to take legal action and  put an end to violations of human rights in their prisons.

On Wednesday, the organization said in a statement on its Facebook page that it had documented what it described as “the testimonies of some of the victims of prison violations,” pointing out that some are official state prisons.

The organization called on the Presidential Council to transfer “detainees from prisons not under the jurisdiction of the judiciary” to prisons of within the system and is demanding the announcement of prisons, and to “prosecute” those violating the law.

The British newspaper The Guardian has previously published accusations of “gross” human rights violations in Libyan prisons.
