Head of Supreme Council of the State Abdulrahman Asswehly calls on #Algeria to hold a meeting of the Security Council

The head of the Supreme Council of the State, Abdulrahman Asswehly, called on the government of Algeria to convene an emergency session of the Security Council to discuss the repercussions of what he described as the “systematic crimes” of Operation Dignity forces in eastern Libya.

Asswehly’s call came during a telephone conversation with Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel where he urged the government to redouble its international efforts to convene an emergency session of the Security Council.

In turn, Messahel stressed that his government will do what it can within the framework of international efforts to invite the Security Council to urgently convene “to take action against those responsible for human rights violations and war crimes in eastern Libya”.
