Libyan coast guard rescue 299 illegal immigrants off the coast of #Zlitan

The Libyan Coast Guard rescued 299 illegal immigrants, including 40 women and 19 children, on two inflatable boats in the middle of the sea off the city of Zliten.

The Libyan Navy’s Information Office released a  statement through its official Facebook page stating that the rescue operation was carried out by the #Sabratha boat, which belongs to the Coast Guard in the #Tripoli sector, opposite to the city of #Zliten.

The office added that the migrants were transferred to the #Tripoli naval base and then handed over to the Tajoura shelter for the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency in #Tripoli.
