The agency for implementation and management of the project of the industrial river denounced the attack on the power plant subsidiary in the western field of the Al-Hasouna plain in Jafara.
In a statement issued on Monday, the agency called on the state authorities to take responsibility and “urgently” protect the project from tampering and destruction; warning that tampering and destruction of the project will affect the quality of life in Libya.
The agency clarified that the station, which feeds a number of production wells with electricity, suffered great losses as a result of burning. They added that the deficit of water production reached 100 thousand liters per day.
In a related context, an armed group had threatened to burn a power station feeding the river system, if Tripoli Deterrence forces (Rada) do not release Al-Mabrouk Haneesh.
