#Government #Libya #News – Local and international condemnation of the #ISIS attack on the #Misrata court complex

The #ISIS attack on the #Misrata court complex on Wednesday, which killed four people and injured more than 40 others, led to numerous domestic and international condemnations.

The Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord confirmed that crimes like these would only increase the Libyans’ insistence on combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations throughout the country. They warned that ‘terrorists will not escape impunity’. The Council also released a statement condemning the attack and offering condolences to the families of the victims.

The Italian Embassy reported the readiness of the Italian field hospital in #Misrata to treat the wounded and injured in the attack; offering condolences to the families of the victims.


The #HOR, UNSMIL, the Ministry of Justice of the #GNA, the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, the Ministry of Interior of the #GNA, and the JCP all condemned the attack; offering their condolences to the families of the victims.

As well as that, the Ministry of Justice called on the #GNA  and the public prosecution to expedite investigations in order to uncover the perpetrators and bring them to justice; stressing their willingness to provide all the necessary support.

The Supreme Council also stressed that such threats would not deter them from doing their duty to investigate and prosecute; adding that they have called on the relevant authorities to assume their responsibilities, to carry out arrest warrants issued by the public prosecution, and to protect judicial offices so that such acts are not repeated.

In addition, the JCP released a statement asking that security forces, and the people of #Misrata stand against extremism and terrorism, and maintain security and stability.
