On Sunday the Joint Drafting committee between the #HOR and the Supreme Council of the State met for the 5th day in the presence of UN Envoy Ghassan Salame.
During this meeting, the head of the Drafting Committee for the #HOR, Abdul Salam Nasiyah, stated that the constitution must be clear, restrictive, and specific. He added that the most important agreements are the separation of the government from the presidential council, and ensuring that the presidential council consists of only three members.
In turn, the head of the Drafting Committee for the Supreme Council of the State, Musa Faraj, stated that they are attempting to write articles that unite Libyans without excluding anyone or imposing anyone. He added that they do not trust the media and do not care to get involved in media controversies due to recent publications of false information.
Faraj went on to say that there is a divergence of views in relation to some articles, but that this divergence was dealt with in a positive manner. Nasiyah added that they had agreed this stage of negotiation should not exceed 50 weeks.
UN envoy to #Libya, Ghassan Salame, stated that the two delegations will return to #Libya for consultation and that they hope that there will be a second and final round in a week.
