On Monday, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Issa Al-Omayani, confirmed the need to accelerate the establishment of a station for the safe disposal of medical waste in accordance with international standards.
Also, the Government of National Accord’s media department released a statement on on its Facebook page mentioning that Al-Omayani, the head of the Committee for the Disposal of Medical Waste,Wafaa Al-Ghariani, and the Italian corporate delegation responsible for implementing the project are in search for a financing mechanism and an equipment supplier.
Al-Ghariani announced the existence of more than 10 thousand tons of expired medicines in the Health Ministry storage facilities.
