The US has reportedly launched spy missions using unmanned drones in Libya from neighbouring Tunisia. A facility in Tunisia is being used by US military personnel to operate the missions, according to an anonymous US official.

The drones have been gathering information on ISIS positions in Sirte to cover “blind spots.”

The surveillance operations, which have reportedly benefited the US airstrike campaign target key ISIS locations in Sirte, were conducted using Air Force Reaper drones that were launched from a Tunisian base.

The US airstrike campaign has so far launched more than 300 airstrikes on ISIS targets since the beginning of the campaign in August.
