On Tuesday, media sources stated that the Italian government informed the commander of Operation Dignity, Khalifa Haftar, that he must follow the political track if he intends to lead #Libya.
The Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported that the Italian defense and interior ministers had sent a letter to Haftar, which the government described as “clear and unambiguous”.
The letter stated Haftar should confront his opponents politically; adding that he must not use military means against the Government of National Accord, which is led by UN-backed Fayez Al-Sarraj.
