The head of the Libyan-Italian Joint Committee on combating illegal migration, Tariq Shanbour, denied the establishment of an Italian base in the Libyan south.
Shabour stated that the committee’s meeting in Rome focused on the maintenance of immigrant accommodation centers, supporting the southern border, and the establishment of monitoring centers to follow the Libyan border guards.
