Italian officials have offered to train 1,000 personnel from the Libyan Coast Guard, the Anti-Illegal Immigration Committee and the Criminal Investigation Agency this year.
The training program was presented at a meeting of the Libyan-Italian Joint Committee to Combat Illegal Immigration and Smuggling. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Italian Ministry of Defense, Foreign Affairs and Interior; as well as the Italian Ambassador to Libya. The meeting was held to ensure the implementation of the training program.
