According to the BBC, in a meeting on Thursday British Foreign Minister Boris Johnson confirmed that Khalifa Haftar vowed to give up military rule if he becomes president.
Johnson said Libyan politicians need to “suppress their selfish interests, compromise for the good of the country and get behind the UN plan”.
