The National Electoral Commission decided, on Thursday, to form a committee to scrutinize the lists of endorsements for presidential candidates, whose names are included in the preliminary list.

The Commission demanded the Committee to submit its report to the Commission Council during the time period that was approved in the procedural regulations, and it has the right to seek the assistance of whomever it deems appropriate to carry out its work.

In a related context, the commission formed a committee to follow up and document judicial rulings issued by the first instance and appeal committees, headed by “Rabab Aleppo.”

According to the decision, the committee will be responsible for documenting the data and dates of publication and receipt by the Commission of the rulings issued by the appeals committees at its various levels, and their conformity with the provisions of Chapter Ten, Articles 48 and 49 of the President’s Election Law.

The committee will submit its report to the Commission Council within 72 hours from the date of its first meeting.
