Al-Daghari: “Aqila” chairing the next parliament session means that he will automatically withdraw from running for president.

MP and candidate for the presidential elections, Khalifa Al-Daghari, said on Tuesday that the presidential candidate, Aguila Saleh, is considered automatically withdrawn from the electoral race if he returns to the presidency of the HoR next week.

Al-Daghari confirmed in a statement to Arraed that if any of the presidential candidates returns to work before the 24th of January, he will automatically withdraw from running for the elections in accordance with the law, and this was confirmed to us by the High Elections Commission.

Al-Daghari explained that this applies to the other candidates for the presidential elections, including Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, who returned to work before the end of the period specified in the law.

It is worth noting that House of Representatives member Saleh Fhaima confirmed in press statements that the HoR will hold a session next Monday under the presidency of Aqila Saleh for the first time since announcing his candidacy to run in the presidential elections that were scheduled to take place on December 24 last.
