Global Initiative to Combat Crime: Haftar’s Chadian mercenaries become human traffickers.

The Global Initiative to Combat Transit Organized Crime said that Haftar’s mercenaries, who were used in his wars, are now playing the task of human trafficking, after the ceasefire in Libya and the defeat of Haftar on the walls of the capital, Tripoli.

According to a report published by the initiative entitled “Soldiers of Wealth: The Future of Chadian Fighters After the Libyan Ceasefire” on Friday, the emergence of mercenaries and foreign fighters in Libya began after the fall of Gaddafi in 2011, with an active and major role, challenging the stability, peace and security of the country.

The initiative added in its report that the illegal intervention of foreign fighters in the region contributed significantly to the instability, as the report mentioned Chadian mercenaries, whom Haftar has used in his wars since his coup in 2014.

The report described the patterns of Chadian fighters active in Libya and the Central Sahara, and their task in performing human trafficking, in addition to their being mercenaries for wars, whom the Chadian government failed to integrate after these wars, according to the report.

It is worth noting that a team of international experts issued a report on the first of December, stating that the exit of mercenaries from Libya has not yet been observed, which refutes the statement of the members of the Military Committee 5 + 5 from Haftar’s side, that they will release 300 mercenaries affiliated with Haftar as a first batch of foreign fighters loyal to them.
