Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that her country is concerned about the exclusion of a number of prominent political figures from the list of candidates for the presidential elections, including Saif Gaddafi.
Zakharova added – through a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry – that this discrimination raises concern, calling for providing equal opportunities for representatives of all Libyan political and public circles to participate in the electoral process.
It is worth noting that the High National Elections Commission announced, last Wednesday, the exclusion of 25 people from the list of candidates for the presidential elections, including Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, due to not complying with Article 10 of Item Seven and Article 17 of Item Five.
