Africa Intelligence: The US is seeking to impose sanctions on “Dbaiba”, “Al-Mishri” and “Aqila” for their attempt to obstruct the elections.

The “Africa Intelligence” website revealed that the United States of America is seeking to impose sanctions, including freeze of assets and travel bans, on individuals trying to obstruct the December 24 elections.

And the website explained – according to its report – that the sanctions target Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, Parliament Speaker Aqila Saleh, and Head of the Supreme Council of State Khalid Al-Mishri, who take turns trying to disrupt and influence the elections.

And Africa Intelligence indicated that the sanctions will not target figures with great weight in Libya, but the UN envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, suggested that they target deputies and members of the Political Dialogue Forum who have sold their votes, pointing out that Abdul Hamid Dbaiba is suspected of benefiting from vote-buying, Through his cousin “Ali Ibrahim” inside the Dialogue Forum, to be appointed prime minister.

The website added that Italy and France do not see the need for sanctions, and consider that the elections will be held without obstructions.
