Electoral commissioner: We have not yet received any appeal or demand to change the terms of the election laws.

In a statement to Arraed Tuesday, member of the High National Elections Commission, Abdul Hakim Al-Shaab, denied receiving any letter from the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Fawzi Al-Nuiri, calling for the amendment of Article 12 of the Presidential Elections Law.

Al-Shaab confirmed that they have not yet received any appeal or demand to change any of the provisions of the approved and previously announced election laws.

Al Shaab added that the doors are open to the candidates and that there is a very good turnout by citizens to the polling stations to receive the voter’s card, stressing at the same time that preparations for holding the elections are going well.

On Monday, social networking sites circulated a message to the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Fawzi Nweiri, calling on the head of the High Electoral Commission, Imad al-Sayeh, to amend Article 12 of the Presidential Elections Law.

It is worth noting that the Italian Nova Agency published on Monday that Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbaiba threatened the head of the commission to challenge the presidential election law, which Al Sayeh denied in a press statement afterwards.
