The head of the Tunisian-African Business Council, Anas Al-Jaziri, said that the value of the Libyan assets frozen in Tunisia is estimated between 150 million to 250 million dollars.
Al-Jaziri added, in statements to Tunisian radio station IFM, that the Tunisian Central Bank is committed to the UN resolutions regarding the freezing of Libyan funds around the world, and that it will not be able to return it to Libya, until after the Security Council lifts the freeze on it.
Al-Jaziri added that Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbaiba asked former Prime Minister Hisham Al-Mashishi to form a committee regarding the Libyan funds frozen in Tunisia to resolve the issue.
Al-Jaziri suggested holding a meeting of the Libyan-Tunisian joint committee, to open a number of important files between the two sides, including the file of frozen funds, and Tunisia’s debts on Libya, which he said are estimated at hundreds of millions.
