During his meeting with a number of tribal components at the government office in Benghazi, Deputy Prime Minister Hussein Al-Qatrani said that he did not see that the elections would take place at the end of the year; Because the House of Representatives and the State Council did not agree on a unified law for it.
Al-Qatrani added that the head of the High Electoral Commission, Imad al-Sayeh, will be forced to postpone it unless the international community intervenes forcefully to pass it, pointing out at the same time that all existing bodies, starting with the government, the parliament, the Supreme Council of the State, and what is known as the “general command” do not want the elections to be held.
Useless
In response to Al-Qatrani’s statements, a member of the House of Representatives, “Abdul Moneim Al-Urfi,” told Arraed that the words uttered by “Al-Qatrani” were untrue, and he had nothing to throw at the House of Representatives.
Al-Urfi added that the Council completed the presidential and parliamentary elections law according to the observations sent by the commission in full.
The member of the House of Representatives stated that Al-Qatrani’s statements are without substance, and do not advance or delay, and he is no asked to provide logistical supplies, and the Commission has assigned the Ministry of Interior to secure polling stations, otherwise nothing is required of them.

In the same context, the politician and one of the founders of the Democratic Party, Mohammed Sawan, confirmed in an exclusive interview with Channel 218, that there are those who seek to obstruct the elections, led by political parties that have money, influence and the media. , namely, the House of Representatives and the Supreme State Council, in addition to the presidential and government, as well as the Central Bank and the Audit Bureau, and finally, armed groups allied with corrupt money.
30 municipalities
After his rejection of the electoral laws issued by the House of Representatives on the pretext of not consulting with them, the head of the Supreme Council of State, Khalid Al-Mishri, said in press statements that a civil coordination body has been established to brings together most of the municipalities in the western region, and it rejects the elections with these laws.
Al-Mishri added, i wonder, when more than 30 municipalities refuse to hold elections based on flawed laws, where will the elections take place?

In answering Arraed’s question about this issue, journalist Abdul Aziz Al-Ghanai agreed with saying that there are those who seek to obstruct the elections, saying: It is normal in Libya for bodies to seek to hold on to power. because they know that they cannot return to it through elections, due to their abject failure while they were in power, he added that the elections will be held in Libya, but with the will of the people and international support.
Postponement is possible
As for the journalist writer Moussa Tehosay, believes that postponing the elections is possible in the event that there is no international willpower that strongly stands in the face of the very influential obstructionists in the current scene, stressing that there indications of the unwillingness of the people in power to change the current situation through free and fair elections, which indicates the Political selfishness and immoral pragmatism do not respect the will of Libyans and their aspirations for change.

The House of Representatives formally completed the law to elect the next House of Representatives on October 2, including 46 articles containing preliminary provisions, as well as conditions for candidacy and voting procedures, after the issuance of the law to elect the head of state directly by the people last September.
