Sawan: I call on Parliament to review its approval of the individual system in the legislative elections law.

One of the founders of the Democratic Party, Mohammed Sawan, called, on Tuesday, members of Parliament to review the paragraph of approving the individual system only in the legislative elections law, without party lists.

On his Facebook page, Sawan called on the international community and the UN mission to take an explicit and supportive stance for the democratic track, commitment to the principles of democracy and political pluralism recognized throughout the world.

Sawan explained that the adoption of the individual system only in the legislative elections law without party lists should be rejected by all parties, personalities, political parties, and those supporting the democratic path.

And Sawan indicated that the adoption of the law in this way is a repetition of a failed experiment that produced this same parliament, stressing that “the one who is missing something does not give it.”

It is worth noting that, yesterday, Monday, the House of Representatives issued a law to elect the next House of Representatives, adopting the individual system only.
