Antonio Guterres, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees speaks during a press conference at the Launch of the Regional Flash Appeal Following recent events in Libyan Arab Jamahiri

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his concern over the recent disputes between the various parties in Libya.

This came in a press conference held by the spokesman for the Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, at the permanent headquarters of the International Organization in New York, during which he stressed the need for matters to return to their tracks to hold the elections on their scheduled date, December 24, calling at the same time the Libyan leaders to put the interests of their people first.

It is worth noting that the House of Representatives decided, last week, to withdraw confidence from the government by a majority of 89 deputies, while the Prime Minister went out to Martyrs Square among a crowd of citizens, denouncing and rejecting the decision of the deputies.
